Motto...

“Making Your Hands be Informative"

The Greater Seattle Club of the Deaf Organization is the relationship between the GSCD and the Deaf, Hard of Hearing, Deaf & Blind and Hearing people in the community.

We, the GSCD, are here to empower everyone in the community and to serve and guide the Deaf community through their involvement and preparation.

We, the GSCD, want to ensure that everyone have a voice when decisions that impact us are being made.

We are group representatives who serve the GSCD community by working to develop our social/sports and event experience in GSCD.

One of our major objectives is to set a strong foundation for those people that come after us to carry and to build on.

GSCD Mission is...

To advocate for, share knowledge with, and serve as a resource to individuals & Deaf community groups, and the GSCD body.

The GSCD is to act in the best interest of the people in the following ways, including, but not limited to:

  • Serving as liaison between the GSCD and the Deaf community.
  • Promoting Deaf community through effective leadership and sport activities.
  • Providing Deaf community with the opportunity to have access to activities critical to "cultural experience".

GSCD Goals for 2008-2009:

  1. Organize and plan effective social, culture and educational events for the Deaf community, while encouraging club and community to do the same for membership purposes.
  2. Strengthen the Deaf club and community, while placing importance on the Deaf community and organization and not by the number.
  3. To find more effective ways of publicizing and reaching out to the Deaf community.
